Lovely week, Garry & Jackie so very helpful. Weather not so good but didn’t detract from very relaxing week. Zoo at Point Scorff well worth a visit as was Les Aquatides at Loudeac. For a very special meal visit Restaurant Le Seqvoia, Auborge de Pont Caueck. (Ask Garry for vague directions!!) a very French experience. Definitely not fast food. Kids loved the pool and walks around the lake with slide etc. Would come back tomorrow but work doesn't permit! Brilliant week, had a lovely time even though weather was a bit dodgy, great place for kids, so well equipped for them and a lovely place to relax, will definitely come back!
What a fantastic location for a holiday, the views are wonderful we have found it really easy to relax, although weather hasn’t been on our side it hasnt mattered, thanks for giving our little boy a brilliant first holiday. Once again thank you to Garry and Jackie. And yes! We will be back.

It is a beautiful and tranquil location, perfect for a relaxing break. We were lucky with the sunshine in our first week and made good use of the splash pool, even Rufus had a dip of his toes in, but at only 4 ½ weeks hey wasn’t too impressed! We found the beach at Lac de Guerledan (Anse de Sordan) perfect for Lex (4 years old) as it was safe for swimming & the merlin restaurant served lovely food, albeit very expensive with the exchange rate unfavourable to the pound. Top tips: get to the boulangerie by 8.30am if you want to be sure to get croissants!! : The crêperie in Rostrenen (de breizh) was perfect for a set price lunch of crepes and a cider.

We had a very enjoyable holiday with activities to suit all ages. The children enjoyed the beach at Larmour plage and the Lac de Guerledan where they built sand castles whilst the older ones went on kyat’s. We had an excellent visit to the mohair farm where the owner Ann Maria spoke endlessly about the goats muck to every ones enjoyment. Jackie and Garry were very knowledgeable and helpful which helped to make the stay very relaxing. Alex particularly enjoyed his gardening sessions with Garry on the last day! Thank you.

We have had a lovely week. Garry and Jackie have been fantastic hosts. If you want to know, where, how, when…. Ask them! We went to the village feast and ? ate crepes & drank local ‘cidre brew, great atmosphere, very old fashioned and accountability and probably like British fates were years ago.
We have also seen Pontivy (for the best supermarket bare right at the bridge and follow the river – intermarche, bike shop, Mcd’s, furniture, children’s cloths etc…) Quimper is lovely if a little expensive ?
Lac de Guerledan is great – head for ‘beau de rvage’ – very picturesque for lots to do. All in all it’s been a fantastic holiday we will be back!

Quite agree with earlier comment – Sat Nav a must.
The cottage is lovely and setting really tranquil and beautiful with plenty of space for children to have fun. Unfortunately we were really unlucky with the whether and had rain every day. Enjoyed trips to Lac de Guerledan (hired peadaloes!) the castle in Pontivy and also to the beach – both Larmor plage (beach) and Pont Louis (beach great rock pooling and lovely restaurant right on the front)
Thanks to Jackie & Garry for their help.

We’ve had a lovely relaxing week here at Kerhotten. Several overcast days when we made the most of cycling on the Voie Vet to Mur de Bretangne, & a day trip to Josselin. We really enjoyed cycling to the lake & village in the morning & treated ourselves to a lovely meal at the pizzareia. The kids loved playing boules and trying fishing. We also were treated to the local Andoville’(sausage) festival at Guemene which was erm “intresting”

What can we say what hasn’t already been said. A gem yes! We will defiantly be back. The house, area and welcome were all wonderful. Enjoy your stay here, we all did and appreciate all of the hard work and dedication put in by Garry & Jackie and Jenny(of course) Concarneau on market day is an excellent day trip (1 hr each way) but well worth it Combined with Port Aven, and remember here everything stops for lunch.
Thank you so much to Garry & Jackie, counting the weeks to our return.

We’ve had a relaxing holiday with mixed weather, but managed a dip in the pool most day’s! Highlights include Monday market at Pontivy stocking up on fruit, cheese, bread etc. Kids loved Parc de Prechistocic and O C’canapolis in Brest with penguins, seals feeding & sealions. (you need a full day and & lunch is good; self service French style try it). Sunday lunch at the Merlin restaurant on Lac de Guerledan was a treat for mum & dad and kids had a paddle at the artificial beach after!you could also picnic there too.

What a lovely place. Peaceful & tranquil. The kids were all water babies in the pool & couldn’t wait to get home so they could play in the pool! House is just right for our holiday. Garry & Jackie are the perfect owners/hosts – always on hand with a wealth of local information

Well we’ve been very lucky with the weather – sunshine all week and as warm as 28c on one day! We too enjoyed the wonderful views and our trips to Chez Chris (La Florentine Pizzeria) for a great lunch and fantastic pizza. Pout du Scorff Zoo was great, especially the Sea Lions and Parrot shows. L’Amore Plage and Kerhouc were lovely beaches but watch for Jellyfish! We finished the week with a fantastic 4 seater motor boat around Lac de Guerledan from Caroul chilly but great fun. The wine, cheese, cakes and bread bought locally were excellent. Thank you for looking after us

We have had a wonderful holiday, we couldn’t fault the cottage or the location perfect! Garry and Jackie were on hand to help us make the most of our holiday, this was greatly appreciated. Spent a very pleasant day at Vannes, we browsed around the shops and enjoyed a relaxed lunch beautiful medieval buildings and a lovely atmosphere. We went to Lake Guerledan where we hired a motor boat for an hour and also spent a pleasant day at Pont Scorff Zoo. We ate at La Florentine Pizzeria in the village, very warm welcome and reasonable prices. Our son did a spot of fishing and caught two fish, he couldn’t go wrong really and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. All in all, a very memorable holiday in this tranquil and idyllic setting, we’ll be back!

Had a great time, in spite of ‘changeable’ weather. Accommodation great, lovely bedroom; enjoyed reading looking out over the lake. Thanks to Garry for the lend of fishing gear, the girls really enjoyed it and they caught some fish! (They were that big…photos to go onto the web site) Managed to have a couple of BBQ’s. Neighbours were great fun all the kids got on really well. A few late nights with one or two glasses of vino went down a treat, especially when Garry and Jackie joined us. Thanks for being great hosts.

A relaxing 2 weeks even if the weather wasn’t brilliant. The kids loved the pool & Garry and Jackie are excellent hosts. Just one word of warning there is a delinquent crow that is likely to wake you up about 7am either knocking on the window of the cottage or your car!! Sara Jane, Michael, Edward & Francesca July 2008 We’ve had a wonderful week. Perfect hosts, perfect setting plenty to do locally, not too far to the coast and all it offers. Bike ride well worth it – Jackie even provided the map. New experiences for some fishing on the lake! Geese like being fed need to be able to run faster than them! Beautiful pool, refreshing after the bike ride. Jackie and Garry look after you really well.
Many thanks. Phil, Vanessa, Jenni, Viki & Ste 23rd August 2008
Very good hosts, cottage lovely. Weather so-so but still had a great time. Tony, Denise, Lyndsay & Mark 31st May – 7th June 2008 Jackie & Garry are wonderful hosts, can’t do enough for you. We wish them all the very best with their venture & have no doubt it will all work out fine. Weather hitty-missy but still enjoyed every day. Josselin is beautiful & Pontivy with its old & new sectors & its restaurants “Le Marstray” worth a visit the food is excellent. The Buvette on the lake is not to be missed the women thought he was like “Sasha Distel”. Feeding the swans, geese & ducks is a full time job. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Jackie and Garry friendly & welcoming. Cottage nice and spacious. The kids loved the pool, blokes loved the boules (champs ‘n’ experts now). Lots of great places to visit, Carnac beach is super & also Larmor plage. Auray is well worth the drive (even the kids enjoyed strolling around). All in all a lovely holiday, would love to come back.

Dear Garry and Jackie,
I thought I would write to let you know how my family and I enjoyed our recent stay at Kerhotten.
It is the first time we had visited this part of France and we are very pleased to have now found a beautiful and restful area to return to.
From the moment of our arrival, after a scenic and pretty journey from St. Malo following your directions, we were made to feel very welcome. Our house, The Granary, was cosy and comfortable and well equipped. After lighting our log fire we felt at home. The setting of Kerhotten is quite superb. There are not many places you can sit in your garden in total peace listing to birdsong and looking out through the trees to the lake, the peace only being interrupted by the distant bell ringing from Langolean Church. We loved being able to walk to the lake and on to the village for a workman’s lunch at the local cafe, and after four courses the walk back was a necessity to burn off the calories.
Every morning my husband and I would choose a local market to visit to buy supplies for supper that evening. Driving around the countryside was a pleasure, a bit like Switzerland with lakes and forests and no traffic to contend with, in fact on one morning we did not see another car for most of our journey. Not only did you as hosts make us feel welcome but so did everyone we met with smiles and waves. We were lucky with the weather glorious April sunshine, too cold for the swimming pool but perfect for picnics and walking. A return trip is much looked forward to as we still have so much to see.
Thank you again for a lovely holiday.
Yours sincerely,
The Renny Family.

Emma and I have enjoyed one of the most memorable holiday for some time. The acid test is however, is always what the children say, my eldest son (9) says that Garry and Jackie are “the nicest people he has met” and that sums things up. Excellent hosts in a superb environment. To be able to enjoy the character of these buildings in such an outstanding setting is a rare treat. Couple that with all that the surroundings area has to after makes any trip here a unique experience. We have had close encounters with deer, frogs, fish and birds of prey to name a small selection of the areas rich wildlife. We will not hesitate to recommend Kerhotten to anyone looking to sample the very best of Brittany.
